This run of pristine heavyweight salmon is still very much present in the Scottish rivers and especially in the River Tay.

Here's a classic example of what a fresh run March caught River Tay heavyweight Spring salmon looks like. This perfect fish was caught on the middle River Tay and weighed in at 23lbs and was this lady salmon angler's first ever salmon from her first days salmon fishing.
