Scottish Salmon Flies By Jock Monteith
Sunday 31 May 2020
There are hundreds of different salmon fly patterns available on the shelves of all fishing tackle shops these days and many have been created by people with little or no professional grounding in the sport. Trust your professional guide's judgement on what pattern to match the prevailing water conditions and exact month of the year.
This amazing little salmon fly pattern I designed 20 years ago on the River Tay while working as a professional guide. It is called the 'Jock's Shrimp' and is one of a few deadly salmon fly patterns I have complete salmon fishing faith in. This fly produced 2 perfect Tay salmon for me within the last 48 hours.
